Making a booking

If you want to enquire about making a booking for a one-off event or regular sessions, the best way is to email mursleyvhbookings@gmail.com or text 07575 708588.  A reply will be made as soon as possible.  Please check out the hiring rates and also the terms and conditions that will be applicable to making a hiring.

The floor plan will give you a good idea of the layout of the hall.

Q: What are the hiring rates for using the hall?

Please note that all hirers are required to pay a public liability insurance fee, which is 10% of the hire rate, unless they can provide proof of their own organisation’s public liability insurance document.

Q: Are there special hire rates for Mursley residents?

A: Residents of Mursley have a reduced hire rate. See hiring rates for current details.

Q: Are there special rates for a weekend event?

A: Weekend packages are available to allow for setting up the hall prior to an event and after the event for clearing up. See hiring rates for current details.

Q: Can the hall be booked for regular sessions?

A: The hall can be booked for regular sessions at a block booking rate provided six or more sessions are booked together for the same time each week.

Block booking rates apply for Monday to Thursday morning, afternoon and evening or for Friday morning or afternoon only.

Block booking rates are for Main Hall hire only with potential shared use of kitchen and / or committee room.

Q: Can the hall and the committee room be booked separately?

A: There are 3 options for booking:

  • Full, exclusive use of Premises including the main hall, kitchen, bar and committee room. This type of hire works well for single private events and regular courses which require a quiet environment.
  • Main Hall use only: please note that there is a potential shared use of the kitchen At the same time as other hall users.
  • Committee Room hire only: this can be hired separately, so long as there is no full, exclusive booking in place.

Q: Does a hirer need to get any licences?

A: If the hirer wishes to sell alcohol at their event, they will need to discuss this with the Bookings Secretary, as a special licence may need to be obtained and only a limited number of these are permissible per annum for use at the hall.

Q: Is a deposit required at the time of booking?

A: Hirers are required to pay a deposit of 25% of the hire charge at the time of booking as confirmation.

The balance of payment is required two weeks prior to the event.

One off events are also generally charged a deposit of £200, which is fully refundable after the event provided that no damage has occurred and that all the Conditions of Hire have been met.

Q: What are the session times for using the hall?

A: Session times for hire are as follows:

  • Morning: 9 am to 1 pm
  • Afternoon: 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm
  • Evening Monday to Thursday: 6 pm to 11 pm
  • Evening Friday and Saturday: 6 pm to 12 midnight
  • Sunday: 9 am to 9 pm

Q: Is the hall fully accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs?

A: Mursley Village Hall is fully accessible for wheelchair and pushchair use into the main entrance or directly into the main hall. There is also a separate disabled toilet with baby changing mat.  See the floor plan for details.
